Continuing the series of introductions to the multi-talented cast of UNSKIN.
Severine is a performance-based artist working across theatre, film, and immersive art platforms as an actress, dancer and spoken word artist.
Having studied at The Cape Academy of Performing Arts in Cape Town, training in classical ballet, contemporary and commercial dance styles, Severine went on to study acting for film at Act Cape Town – Film Acting Academy.
Severine is now based in London and currently explores many mediums of different art forms through collaboration and performance on a freelance basis.
Her wider interest in combing art forms has led to collaborative efforts with Dane Hurst, Ekata Theatre Company, The Questors Theatre, Be•wilder Theatre, Livia Rita, Sean Koch Trio and Crimson Black Ltd, collaborating with Elcid Asaei for UNSKIN.
Alongside her performance endeavours, Severine is a performing arts mentor across London and the UK. Working with the Baked Bean Company, Severine devises theatre and tutors dance and drama practices to SEN artists whilst also working within mainstream educational environments.
Severine is also the co-founder and director of Keep The Act Alive, which was founded alongside Raine Waring in 2017 in Cape Town. This is a performance-based collective, which mentors artists from various backgrounds and abilities in drama and movement disciplines.
