London based Italian artist, sculptor, and animator, Gaia Predassi, is the Production Designer for Unskin.
Born in Milan in 1973, Gaia graduated from the Liceo Artistico Caravaggio Art School with an Art Diploma, and moved to London where she began working as an Artist and Designer. Her works range large polychrome statues, paintings, murals, theatre props, sculptural jewellery and commissions for high profiled clients in the music and fashion industries, like singer Marc Almond and photographers Pierre et Gilles.
Since the beginning of 2000, Gaia embraced the world of Animation, starting as a 3D Modeller at Aardman Animations in Bristol, and later in 2006 she covered the position of Art & Technical Director at BBC Television Centre during the development of a pair of award winning Jackanory Specials: ‘Muddle Earth’ and ‘The Magician of Samarkand’. In 2010, Gaia won the Best Animation Award for her short film ‘Attack Of The Aliens!’ at the New York City International Film Festival.
Currently, Gaia is busy working on film projects as a Production Designer/Art Director and Artist, based at her studio in Battersea, and she is focusing on the creation of unique pieces, often involving stained glass mosaic, metal and velvet.
Her multidisciplinary talent and vision is an asset to the Unskin team.
